Every little ballerina's dream...to dance "en pointe" someday! Is it really as easy as we make it look? Hardly. A ballerina trains for several years to develop the strength and alignment to dance on pointe. Think about it ... a very strong athlete could carry 120 pounds using all their muscles. But a ballerina has to carry her body weight on just a toe, and look graceful at the same time. That is why correct dance training is so important. Not all dance schools understand how to train the feet, leg, and torso muscles properly - it is a diligent process for a meticulous teacher to ensure the student will be successful. It is also important to take as many classes per week as needed. Remember, dancing on pointe well is a result of good ballet training!
